Markus says: Hello, My name is Markus and im 19 years old. I guess I'm known as the only swede in the US community (bar glaive).

shiKaka says: Th only eh? ill get abck to that but first walk us through a normal day in Sweden

Markus says: Well as some of you may know I went inactive a few weeks ago, so a normal day nowadays is not so glamorous. I wake up at 11, go to work (parttime ftw), come home at around 6. Depending on what day it is, i usually go to the gym or relax infront of the tv. Then at around 8 i sit at the computer and play some dota and chat with friends until I go to bed.

shiKaka says: No school?

Markus says: Nope I graduated from high school a few months ago and I'm taking a year off before college to save up some money and to give myself time to decide on what I want to study.

shiKaka says: Oh cool , i know many people that did that. Now you mentioned you retired recently (3rd time) and particular reason?

Markus says: Well I guess the obvious reason is because I got bored of wc3, I have periods of enjoying the game for a few months which is why I go inactive back and forth. I have been playing quite a lot these past months now and supporting MsY a lot, and eventually I grew tired of it which is why I'm now taking a long break. I'm definitely expecting to get back to the game within a year.

shiKaka says: Ahhh yes, i can understand that. Now earlier you mentioned you were the only Swede really in the American scene (barring Glaive) Before his recent cheating, would you have considered iLLu to be well known in the American scene?

Markus says: Ah, Illumize. No I wouldn't consider him to be well known in the American scene. As far as I know, the only real connection he had with the American scene was playing for a short time in envy (until he got caught and banned). Despite my involvement in the American scene, I still follow the Swedish scene, so I knew him quite well before this incident, but I don't expect many americans to know him.

shiKaka says: Was he respected in the scene before all what happened?

Markus says: He was respected for his skill (he has proven himself on several Swedish LANs), but his manner has always lacked. He was far more involved in the Swedish scene than I've ever been though, so he had a lot of friends that supported him despite him maphacking.

shiKaka says: You feel he got what he deserved? and do you think he'll be back?

Markus says: He definitely got what he deserved, cheaters should never be tolerated even if you've only done it once. I don't think he'll ever come back to the American scene, though it's very plausible that he'll start playing in some swedish or german team in the future.

shiKaka says: Lets hit WC3L for a minute, qualifiers are just around the corner, give me your top 5 in the upcoming qualies

Markus says: I like to believe that H2O will make it, however WC3L qualies are really hard. My top 5 in no particular order are: YDK (former nWo), raptor, srs, H2O (go plazma!) and mouz

shiKaka says: oh nice, you see mouz making a comeback this season?

Markus says: Yeah I've seen them make some promising additions lately, and Fly will definitely do his part.

shiKaka says: Do you think mouz can be a serious contender next WC3L season (assuming they make it)?

Markus says: I believe they have a strong team, however to be considered a serious contender (top 6?) they would definitely need to get some more top players, Fly alone isn't enough to tackle Fnatic/mTw/SK/MYM/WE/GG.

shiKaka says: last thing about wc3l, your prediction to win it all this season?

Markus says: Hmm, it's always hard to predict who will win it all, these teams are so close in skill. Normally I would say MYM, but I'm gonna go out slightly on a limb and predict WE taking it home! TeD and Sky will carry, with solid performances from Like and InFi

shiKaka says: Really quick, on the American scene, whats your top 3 teams atm?

Markus says: H2O for sure, MsY and vVv (I don't consider DCo american, they only have european players pretty much)

shiKaka says: Cool ! Lets talk about the actual game play for a sec, now what would you consider the strongest race?



Markus says: I don't think there is a strongest race, the game is very balanced. Lately people have begun saying Orc is imba due to the many tournaments being won by Orc in 1.22, however I don't really think imbalance is to blame for that. Every race has stronger and weaker matchups, I must say however that it seems that Orcs have it slightly easier than other races due to the fact that they more or less use the same strategy in every matchup and on most maps, with slight variations. I believe that's the reason orcs in general have begun winning more, because as they practice that one strategy, they become better in all matchups.

shiKaka says: Very well explained, i agree 100%. Do you think the new maps favor any certain race? and do you like/dislike them (CG, MV, & RTS)

Markus says: I haven't played these maps that much, mostly because I barely laddered in s6, so I don't know them that well. CG is barely ever used in leagues either, so I don't really have an opinion on that map. MV however is a very large 2 player map, that in leagues is dominated by mostly orcs, but also humans. I guess both those races do well on that map, moreso than NE/UD. As for RTS, I don't have a strong opinion on it either, except from the few times I've tried to fast expo on it versus elf and failed miserably So going by those very biased experiences, I'm gonna have to say that it's a strong NE map!
